How do I find last year's AGI?

Per the IRS, when self-preparing and electronically filing your tax return (such as with Beem Filer), you "must sign and validate your electronic tax return by entering your prior-year Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) or your prior-year Self-Select PIN."

Last year's federal tax return (Form 1040) will give you your AGI. An individual's AGI encompasses earned wages, dividends, capital gains, business income, and retirement distributions (as well as any other income sources per the IRS). Your AGI can usually be found on line 11 on your Form 1040.

The IRS recommends that taxpayers securely maintain copies of their tax returns and any supporting documents for at least three years after filing, which can help with getting these sorts of details.
